Side-wide sitemap error: "Namespace Not Properly Declared"

Describe the issue or problem

I am trying to upload my OJS-based website’s sitemap to Google Console for indexing on Google Search and Scholar. However, I receive the following error from Google: Your Sitemap or Sitemap index file doesn’t properly declare the namespace.

Steps I took leading up to the issue

1. Go to OJS Sitemap URL.

2. Copy the link and upload it to Google Console under the “Sitemaps” section.

3. Submit the sitemap for indexing.

What application are you using?

OJS 3.4

Additional information

• URL of the sitemap: https://journals.kmanpub.com/index/sitemap

• Unlike for site-wide sitemap, I faced no issues when uploading journal-specific sitemaps like this one.

• The sitemap seems to open correctly in a browser.

This fix is included in OJS 3.4.0-6 or higher.
