Provide visual feedback on status change after editor (decline) decision

[OJS 3.1.2.1] No visual feedback after declining article, buttons (editorial decision) still active

Dear Community, An editor in OJS has rejected an article. The rejection mail has been sent successfully and the post is no longer listed as active, but has been moved to the archive. So far everything is correct. However, we do not receive any visual feedback in OJS that the post is now inactive after clicking the “Decline” button. After opening the post in the archive, we can even continue to click the three buttons “Send to Review”, “Accept and Skip Review” and “Decline Submission” and take…

After clicking an Editor Decision button (especially the “Decline” botton) there should be some visual feedback the the action was successful (show new status of submission, confirm that decision was recorded).

Is there any chance that this feature will be added? It is really confusing if you “decline” a submission and nothing

In the current master branch, to be released as OJS 3.3, after you compose the rejection message and record the decision you see the following header:

I think the “Declined” indicator is more visible than it was in OJS 3.1.2-4. Does that suit what you’re looking for?

Great, thanks a lot, this will help.

I also realized, that at least in our 3.1.2.4 version a “Submission declined” status message is displayed at top of the review round tab after recording the decision. For some reason I did not realize this message before ;-(
