Error OCS 2.3.5 string PHP 7

Hi all

I want to know if is possible that OCS work with php 7 in this moments my institution has plans to migrate a php 7 I am doing test and it shown this error PHP Fatal error: Cannot use ‘String’ as class name as it is reserved in /home//OCS/lib/pkp/classes/core/String.inc.php on line 57 or if in new release it will be supported to work with PHP 7 actually the version we are using is 2.3.5 thanks for the help

Hi @christian_criollo,

That error does indicate that the software is not compatible with php 7. Now that php 7 is seeing an increase in use, PKP is ensuring that new software releases are compatible with 7. So it is likely that the next version of OCS will be, which is due out in approximately the second quarter of 2018. You can see this post and the linked issue for more details.
