XML-Error, PKP PLN plugin exporting problem

Hi
I hope you are fine and doing well. Seems like there is a problem all issues of my journal by the time that I am depositing issues using pkp pln plugin. The response is “XML-Error”. However, when I try to validate the issue XML there is not problem with the XML means that the XML is valid. And the plugin does not output any log about this error.

We tried different methods but it seems that we couldn’t solve it. It would be great to help us in this regard to find out what is the exact problem.
The location of XML file is files/journals/1/pln/5045B6BF-5B6C-4C2D-8695-0390238E342F/.
I am using OJS 3.3.0.13.

I’m interested and available to help you solving the issue, maybe it will be simple, maybe not :slight_smile:

But first, could you please upgrade your installation to OJS 3.3.0-15? I see you’re using 3.3.0-13 and some improvements have been made to the x-14 and x-15. There are just bug fixes, so the upgrade is supposed to be fast (just updating a couple of the files) and without breaking changes to the workflow.

Great! Now you can try to reset one of the deposits that has the “xml-error” (there’s a small blue arrow next to each deposit), then wait 1-3 days to see if the status will be the same.

If it passes then you can reset the others, otherwise I’ll help to investigate what’s going on.

I have just installed pln plugin because after upgrading OJS I realized that pln plugin disappeared. I tried to instal using available plugin in “Plugin Gallery” but it affect the website and closed the page:

No, I used my backup file and I used my previous pln plugin. it worked and now I just rest one of the issues as you kindly mentioned.

Hi!

These deposits with Unknown LOCKSS state inProgress are in fact preserved already. It’s just a problem on the plugin which I’ve fixed (a new release will happen soon with several fixes).

Please, reset a deposit that has the Unknown processing state xml-error (by the way, this message will also be fixed :grin:).

Sorry for the delay, I guess you’re a victim of a problem that I’m fixing here: Deposits incorrectly displayed as completed · Issue #28 · pkp/pln · GitHub. Because the deposit that you showed with Pending status, is in fact preserved in the system, the “reset” wasn’t received by us.

You can try to reset another, this is the list of deposits with “xml-error” on our side:

Hi!

The xml-error persists, because the defective deposits were not redeposited yet, looks like a bug in the plugin is not allowing you to proceed.

You could try to use my fixes, but it will require some technical skills to proceed, so maybe it’s better to wait the next plugin release, which should fix things automatically.
