Why call it Archives?

Hi
One of our English editors have asked me why you call the top menu link ‘Archives’ instead of ‘Archive’? In his terminilogy the plural form signifies an organisational institution such as ‘The National Archives’. What do you say to that?

Hi @nef,

I think either word would work; an archive is a collection (e.g. of articles, or of issues), thus archives would be a collection of collections (e.g. of issues containing articles). I’m hesitant to make a change to the locale files unless the current text is clearly wrong or we’re receiving a lot of feedback about it, but you could always tweak the locale file locally if you prefer one over the other.
