Version, update Open Harvester Systems

I would like to use Open Harvester Systems. I see that the latest version is from March 2012. is that version compatible with latest versions of OJS, OCS?

Thanks

Hi @vvucic

Open Harvester Systems is compatible, it’s exchange of info is OAI-PMH protocol based and this has not change for a reasonable time since.

Does it work in new versions of PHP, MySQL?

Hi @vvucic

OHS has as minimum requirements:

  • PHP >= 4.2.x (including PHP 5.x); Microsoft IIS requires PHP 5.x
  • MySQL >= 3.23.23 (including MySQL 4.x/5.x) or PostgreSQL >= 7.1 (including PostgreSQL 8.x)
    As you can see here: https://pkp.sfu.ca/ohs/ohs_download/

But, when you use PHP 7, the database driver likely will be “mysqli” ( not “mysql”) in Database Settings parameters in config.inc.php.

OK. Thanks. I prefer higher version of PHP since version 5.5. is not supported and some security issues might take place.

I would like to use Open Harvester Systems.
How to use that?

hey, I am trying add archive but i found following error in OHS. Could you please help me.

  • The specified OAI URL is not valid. Please check the URL and try again.

Hi @Lambodara_Parabhoi,
