Using OJS for distribution

Hi,

Student workers have prepared a distribution list for me (14,000 names) of faculty at various institutions which are used for announcements- calls, publications, etc. These are in addition to those included as journal users.

The college email server limits me to 500 names per email, and if they are sent to close together, Microsoft will shut me down as SPAM.

Is there a way to send announcements to these (unregistered) faculty using OJS so that it does not go through the college MS Exchange server?

Hi @mel,

If the list is currently inside OJS (e.g. it’s your user database), I’d suggest using a tool like phpMyAdmin (often available via CPanel) to extract the list into e.g. a spreadsheet. Then use another tool, such as Mailchimp, to send out the messages.

To send the messages within OJS, you’d likely need to find another mail server that doesn’t have such low limits.
