User registration in OJS journal with main language different from the portal configuration

Describe the issue or problem

If the OJS portal (multi journal instanece) is configured to main language “English”, and there is a journal with a main language Portuguese, there is an error filling a new user registration (from user registration form and internally in the users menu).

If the journal has only one main language, it’s impossible to register. If the journal has two languages, there is still a validation error and the user needs to input twice the name (the mandatory is the portal language).

The user registration should consider the journal main language and not the portal main language.

Steps I took leading up to the issue
For example:

  1. Configure the OJS Portal to main language “English”
  2. Configure a journal with only a main language different from “English”
  3. Go to “Registration page on a journal” and fill the fields, click “Register”.

What application are you using?

We tested this in different versions with the exact same behaviour OJS 3.3.0-20, 3.3.0-21, 3.4.0-9

Is there any workaround to avoid this behaviour?
