URN for back isues DOI for future issues?

We have approx 600 articles in our OJS installation. We want to assign them public identifiers.
Can we assign URNs to back issues and manually assign DOI to each article that will be published in the forthcoming issues?

You can have both the DOI pubId plugin and the URN pubId plugin enabled at the same time.

The “Generate DOIs from now on” thread discusses excluding automatic assignment of DOIs to objects. If you set the DOI plugin to “Enter an individual DOI suffix for each published item.” instead of using patterned assignments, each future DOI assignment will be manual.
