I am new to OJSv2.3.4, and I want to update the security of the said version. Can anyone help me to do this? Or can I upgrade to higher version though they fully customized the file (OJSv2.3.4)?

See docs/UPGRADE for instructions on upgrading, including how to deal with modified installations. I’d suggest using diff and patch to extract your modifications from your old installation, then re-apply them to the new codebase; you’ll likely have to reconcile some collisions, depending on what you’ve modified.
