Upgrade to 3.1.1

Hello,
Some links and fields appear like (##submissions.published##). how to solve this problem and I have
This message
(Fatal error: Call to a member function getVersionString() on boolean in )
When I try to upgrade to 3.1.1 from Current version: 3.1.0.1?

Regards,
Nasseer

Hi, @asmecher Could you help me with this problem?
Two days without any answer or solution?

Hi @Nasseer,

Please be patient – we’re a small team with a lot of competing priorities.

What language are you using?

When you upgraded, did you receive confirmation that the upgrade succeeded? What do you see in your versions table in the database with product='ojs2'?

Hi @asmecher,
I’m very sorry but I got frustrated after two days without any answer?
Am I use en_US language?
I was unable to upgrade with the error message (Fatal error: Call to a member function getVersionString() on boolean in )
I then downloaded the database on the local server and upgraded it and was successful without any error and uploaded the database back to the server?
now in System Information, I see Current version: 3.1.1.0 (April 10, 2018 - 11:24 PM).
about product=‘ojs2’ ?

Hi @Nasseer,

I’m not sure what happened to cause that error message on your server, but if you were able to download it, upgrade it locally, then upload the results, that work-around sounds fine to me.

Are you still encountering the other problem with locale strings ##formatted.likethis##? Is it only certain strings, or all of them?

Hi @Nasseer,

Have you made any modifications to e.g. locale/en_US/locale.xml or locale/en_US/submission.xml? Check to make sure that those are the same as the versions distributed in the .tar.gz package.

Hi @asmecher,
Can you save the secret?:disappointed_relieved:
The folder did not exist on the server?
But I have a same old problem with Upload file in submission process? you already helped me with it and was resolved without knowing how?

Only if can give me some notes to find the solution?
I’ve taken a great time from you,
Thanks for Alex.

Nasseer

Hi @Nasseer,

Did you find any other useful threads on that? In particular there’s an entry in the FAQ area: Error message on upload: "No file uploaded or invalid file type!"
