Upgrade OJS from 2.4.x to yhe newest version

Hi
I’ve tried to make upgrade from OJS 2.4 to 3.3.

I’ve made every steps from instruction and it does not work.

  1. I’ve made o copy od /public and config.inc.php from existing (2.4) version.
  2. I’ve copied 3.3 ver to the new localisation.
  3. I’ve replaced existing config.inc.php add /public from the copy of point 1.
  4. I’ve switched option Installed from config.inc.php to Off.
  5. Made upgrade of database from command line.
    and … nothing.

When i choose option upgrade from site I have blank page.
PHP 7.4.

Have you got any idea what is wrong?

Hi @zbigniew

Please note that now, directly upgrading from 2.4 to 3.3 is no longer supported. You will first need to upgrade to a previous OJS3 version, like 3.2.1. From there you can upgrade to 3.3.

Could you, please, write me down short, byt step-by-step instruction how to make upgrade from OJS 2.4 to fe. 3.2.1.

Hi,
I think you will need to restore your previous installation first before continuing the upgrade. Go to your hosting cpanel and roll back to the previous version before you upgrade the ojs.

From there you need to download the latest ojs 2 which is 2.4.8-5 and and follow the upgrade instructions included there. Upgrade your old ojs.
Now from 2.4.8-5 only then you could upgrade to ojs 3.

I’ve made it - upgrade to 2.8.5 version.e1 e2 e3
And:

  1. I’ve lost whole my layout (e1 and e2 - attachments - before and now)
  2. Article search does not work. Details in attachment e3

Any ideas?
