Hi @mpbraendle, they should actually be copied in the front-end. Though there was an issue with the back-end. It should be resolved in 3.1.2-1. Is that your case?

Yes, the user should not have to fill out each language. During upgrade it should be copied to the journal’s primary language, and whenever it is displayed in another language it should fall back to this if the user has not provided a separate name for that language.
There was a bug which prevented this from appearing correctly in the user grid. But otherwise it should work and the bug should be fixed in the next minor release (3.1.2-1) coming soon.
Thank you. I have applied and tested the patch. The user list now shows the names. Let’s see what 3.1.2-1 brings along further.
Hello @NateWr, it seems to me that still today the user needs to fill out his name in each language field, which is a bit bizarre. It’s happening also with the QuickSubmit plugin. Do you know if there have been any news about this? I am using OJS 3.1.2-4, and I plan to upgrade to 3.2 as soon as it will be released.
Best regards
Leonardo
Can you give me some details so that I can try to reproduce this. I’ll need to know:
- What languages are supported at the site level.
- What languages are supported at the journal level.
- What is the primary language of the site?
- What is the primary language of the journal?
- What language is the user operating in when they have this problem?
- What form is causing this issue? Is it when they register? During submission? etc.
