Social media share links

It seems like the Schariff repo is dead so unless you’re stuck in 2019 it’s become a bit useless. Over the past week I’ve been getting requests to implement Bluesky as there currently seems to be a push to transition “science twitter” away from X.

Has anyone here managed to implement an easy way to add a Bluesky share link (or other social media platforms) to publication pages? I don’t want to get into customizing template code.

Hi @bart,

I don’t think that is the correct repo link. The one that is used for OJS is over here: GitHub - ojsde/shariff: The Shariff plugin adds social media buttons to the website without compromising the privacy of website users, using Shariff (https://github.com/heiseonline/shariff) solution.

And, it looks like there was recent activity on it. And, a most recent release from back in May.

You could open an issue on the Github repo and request that they add bluesky?

The OJS plugin depends on that repo as a dependency.

This plugin works for OJS and OMP 3 (the code is the same). The shariff solution by heise (version v3.2.1) is included in the plugin code (MIT License). It adds the social media buttons using html, css and js. The plugin uses hooks to add content, no existing templates are being overwritten. No database access is needed.
