Hello,
we have noticed a very interesting thing about the email template in OJS. When the reviewer accepts the review, he sends an e-mail from his e-mail address to the editors.
The subject of this email (by default) also contains the author’s name.
However, the reviewer does not see this e-mail in his -mail inbox, which is fine because we use a double blind review process (Anonymous Reviewer/Anonymous Author).
The promlem is when the editor is unavailable and has enabled auto-reply in their e-mail account (e.g. summertime, holiday…). At this point, the reviewer receives an email from the editor informing them that they are absent. The email subject of the automatic reply is the same as in OJS (see above), and at this point the reviewer will see the author’s short name.
I suggest that {$authorsShort} is removed from the email subject by default.
We are using OJS 3.4.0.5.
Kind regards.
