We load references with sequential numbers into the meta data but these disappear when looked at on the Abstract View page. All we get is a dot instead of the number.
Hi @cmasw,
Which of our applications are you using, and what version? Screenshots might also help.

Thanks Alec
We are using OJS and loaded is one screen shot of loaded metadata and one of how the same references look on the abstract view page.
Best wishes
Christopher
Hi @cmasw,
What version of OJS are you using? Are you using the Citation Markup Assistant? (This is configured in Journal Setup.)

Dear Alec
We are using 2.4.8.1
And no we do not use a citation manager - we copy numbered references from word docs into the reference box in the submission process.
Best wishes
Christopher
Hi @cmasw,
Is the Citation Markup Assistant enabled in journal setup?

Thanks Alec
Yes the markup is enabled.
Best wishes

Hi @cmasw,
It sounds like you aren’t using its functionality. I’d suggest disabling it, then re-saving the metadata of your submission; this may solve the problem.
