Hi I first that all thanks for do OJS possible. I want know what is the importance of GeoLiteCity.dat for upgrade OJS 2.4.8 to 2.4.8-1, I ask this because I am trying upgrade an OJS but it takes a lot of time and before it was not so, it is stopped on “[schema: lib/pkp/xml/schema/metrics.xml]” and it don’t continue and I can’t upgrade, I tryied the upgrade without GeoLiteCity.dat file and it was well but I am not sure if that database is essential. NOTE: In past upgrades don’t use GeoLiteCity.dat file.

That is the process or query where is stagnant the upgrade, other data is that table metrics on database has 2.828.549 rows
Hi @leoto17,
That file is used by the statistics framework to geolocate requests. If you don’t need geolocated statistics, you can continue without that file.
