Problem Upgrade OJS 3.1.1.2 to OJS 3.3.0.19

Hi, it’s me again, hehe.

I have an issue when upgrade OJS 3.1.1.2 to 3.3.0.19. I have raised the same issue yesterday but in this case at different OJS domain.

I’m experiencing error like this when upgrade OJS 3.1.1.2 to 3.3.0.19 on my another OJS website.

Why it could happen? Please help.

Hi @f666dhn,

Before you run the upgrade, did the publications table exist? It shouldn’t; I suspect this might’ve been lying around from a previous upgrade attempt.

Yea, i’ve checked the database. There’s publications table exist on my database.

How do i fix this issue ?
I don’t have backup original structure database of my OJS 3.3.1.2. Bcs the previous upgrade failure was done by my colleague long time ago, and he didn’t do a backup first

Hi @f666dhn,

I think you mean 3.1.1.2, not 3.3.1.2.

The 3.1.1.2 database should not have a publications table, so before you run the upgrade, try deleting it.

If you don’t have a backup of your 3.1.1-2 database before the upgrade was first attempted, and don’t know what step in the upgrade the first failure occurred, I’m afraid you’re going to go through a lot cycles of restore from backup, clean up data, try an upgrade, and repeat as necessary. Get comfortable doing this, and keep consistent with your data cleanup between attempts. There will likely be posts in the forum that talk about solutions for each error message.
