PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) plugin for 3.5.0

PKP|PN 3.0.0-1 plugin not work on OJS 3.5.0
Upload plugin then I can not see any settings on Plugin page. Hope update soon.

Thank you

Hi @huynhnguyenthuan,

The PKP|PN plugin has not yet been updated to be compatible with OJS 3.5 - our team is still working on this. It will show up in the plugin gallery when a compatible version of the plugin is made available. And, a release for the plugin will be noted on the plugin repository page: Releases · pkp/pln · GitHub

Note that it is ideal to install plugins from the plugin gallery as the plugins there are more likely to have been tested against the release of OJS you’re using, whereas uploading different versions of plugins manually may carry certain risks, such as not being compatible or, in some cases, crashing your OJS site, or producing other unwanted errors.

Hi @rcgillis

Just now upgraded to OJS 3.5.0.1.(www.xlescience.org)

Kindly let us know when the PKP PN plugin is available from the plugin gallery.

and also ‘Shariff Plugin’ and ‘Scopus/Crossref Citations Plugin’.

Thank you

HI @srinivasanchelliah,

You have a few options to stay updated on plugin updates:

  1. You can also check the plugin compatibility tool. - this is updated regularly and probably is the simplest option for tracking which plugins are compatible with specific versions of OJS.

  2. Check the plugin Github repository for the plugin directly directly. For example, the PKP PN github: Look in the “releases section,” and the title will usually note the compatibility with a particular major version (e.g. 3.4, 3.5, etc.)

For the Shariff plugin, please note that this was developed by a third party outside of PKP. Again, your best bet is to monitor their Github page for a new release, check the plugin compatibility tool as noted above, and/or wait until it shows up in the plugin gallery, which indicates that it has been tested against the version of OJS that you are using.

Similarly, for the Crossref/Scopus plugin, this is another third-party plugin, so you’d have to watch the Github page for releases. I will say that this plugin has not been updated in some time, and I’m not entirely sure if the plugin developer is still actively working within the PKP/OJS world, so I’m unsure of the likelihood of this plugin being developed in the future.
