PKP PLN error - [Notice] Deposit X has unknown processing state xml-error

Problem: We activated PKP PLN Plugin in OJS 2.4.8.5 and plugin is working for 51 issues of 53 issues. But we received an error message from the PKPPLNDepositorTask log file for the two issues of 53 issues.

and

When we check our journal details in http://pkp.sfu.ca/files/pkppn/onix.csv, we found that 51 issues of 53 issues is in the list but the other two are not.

how can we solve this problem?

Hi @eurjchem,

As a starting point, you’re going to want to update your OJS instance. OJS 2.4 is really out-of-date and no longer supported. The minimum supported version for the PKP PN is 3.1.2: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/pkp-pn/en/#pkp-pn-criteria. I would encourage you to update and then retry when you have the opportunity to upgrade. Our upgrade documentation may be of assistance in upgrading: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/upgrading-ojs-2-to-3/

Thanks for your fast reply, we are planning to upgrade our system. But it will take some time.
Do you have any suggestion for this error ?

Because the others works without problem (51/53). Is RESET option solve our problem? or is this problem coming from Lockss server?

Hi @eurjchem,

I’m not entirely sure that this is feasible to resolve using OJS 2, but I will ask my colleague @jonasraoni if he has any insights on this - any thoughts?

I’ll need the URL of your journal to check what’s happening.

Anyway, I can say in advance that the system must be generating an invalid deposit (probably a very small detail), and if that’s the case, we won’t be able to help since we’re not maintaining old versions of the software, see: ojs/SECURITY.md at main · pkp/ojs · GitHub

I’ve just checked and it’s a problem in the validation of the deposit, the problem is on our side.

But the file which we’re using to validate (https://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/dtds/2.4.8/native.dtd) is outdated and doesn’t have this tag.

There’s nothing more you need to do, I’ll solve this problem internally and once it’s ok, your deposit will be processed.

Dear Jonas,

Hi, after your mail and your update, our proccessing status problem disappeared. When we check the status page, all of our entire id Processing status for about 10 days is “Sent to LOCKSS”. However, the LOCKSS status is “Unknown”. What is your recommendation for us?

We’re solving an issue within a node of the network, until it gets sorted out, the deposits aren’t going to advance to the “complete” state.
