People section: itemizable pages

Dear pkp support,

my name is Mattia Sorgon, I’m editor-in-chief of RIFAJ - Italian Journal of Analytic Philosophy Junior. Recently, we made some updates on our journal’s website, but we are currently facing a problem with the OJS “People” section of “About the Journal”.

We would like to have two distinct “itemizable” pages in this section, one for the “Editorial Team” and another for the “Scientific Committee”. Currently, the OJS system permits you to itemize (viz. to list in different categories/subsections) only the page “Editorial Team”, by creating different new titles appearing under it.

Would it be possible to have a second itemizable page in our People section? We would create a distinct page for our Scientific Committee with the same style as the Editorial Team’s one. At the moment, we had to collect both the Editorial Team and the Scientific Committee in the same page.

Thank you in advance for your support and availability,
Best Regards

Hi @Mattia_Sorgon,

The approach we used in OJS 2.4.x is enough for many users but it’s proven pretty inflexible and overly prescriptive. For OJS 3.0 and later, we’ll be simplifying the approach by just allowing users to enter masthead information as they like in a rich text field. Until that’s released, the most expedient solution is probably going to be editing a template. Have a look at the files in templates/about – particularly editorialTeamBoard.tpl and editorialTeam.tpl (for the two modes of operation).
