We are hosting a conference. Is there a way for users to enable payment in the registration step?

OJS’ payment plugins are geared towards author payments, not really conference registration. You could possibly configure it to work with registration fees, but it’s not really designed that way, and currently only supports Paypal as a payment method. You could, however, possibly provide some information as part of a customized registration referring users off to a separate payment site.
