We have upgraded our OMP to v3.5.0.1, and we’re a bit confused by the new ORCID functionality. I have activated the (public) ORCID API (screenshot 1) and I have requested ORCID verification from a bunch of authors (screenshot 2). But the authors do not seem to get the opportunity to verify their orcid, and I don’t know what I am missing here. Can anyone tell me how exactly the authors (or I) are supposed to verify the orcid? Is there something else that needs to be activated in order to trigger a verification email or link?
I note that when I publish a book, the authors do receive an automatic email asking them to verify that they have authored a publication, but there seem to be no link to orcid or a verification process in this email and I’m guessing that this email is not related to the orcid verification process.
