OJS very slow to add a reviewer or reinstate reviewer

Hi,

I’m using OJS 3.4.0.4 with postgresql database.
Some actions are taking too long to perform, such as adding a reviewer.
But these actions only take a long time when the send email option is not disabled.

If I add a reviewer and ask them not to email, the system works quickly.
I didn’t mark anything and let send the email as the default option, it takes almost 2 minutes to complete the action.
The email is sent normally.

This also happens when the reviewer accepts an article.

Has anyone gone through something similar? Any idea?

Have you had a look at your error logs - that might provide some indication of what’s going on here?

Sorry I forgot to say it.
I looked and there is nothing in the logs.
Email sending is done via sendmail. Nothing in his logs either.

Hi @Tarcisio_Pereira,

No - sorry - I’m not sure. Often, with these performance issues there are error log messages to go along with this that provide more clues, but in this case, I don’t think I can say much about it.
