OJS Unable to login after password reset

Running OJ-2.4.7.1.

One of our users received an email welcoming them to the journal and to update their profile which is fine.
They went in and registered but never received any email for validation.

The journal manager tried a password reset for this user. They received the email and was able to reset their password.
Unfortunately, they cannot log into the journal.

Any ideas?

Can you double-check the length of the password column in the users table?

Hi @asmecher,

I went through all of our journals not just the one giving me problems and have verified that all journals have USERS.PASSWORD length as 255. I believe that this is the correct length for this field.

Hi @EdwardDavid,

Have you tried testing a password reset yourself? Most journals use a two-step password reset, and if the user gets confused and requests a second reset message before completing the process, they may get lost between the two.
