OJS Submission Files - Date in Red or Different Shades of Gray - Meaning?

I am trying to find an explanation as to why the dates for submission files in OJS are in different colors – specifically in Red or in dark or light gray. What is the significance of this?

It appears dates are flagged if they are recent (less than 7 days, less than 28 days):
