OJS - Foreign key constraint failure - Merge users

Hi OJS,

I am currently receiving the following error when trying to merge users:

“DB Error: Cannot delete or update a parent row: a foreign key constraint fails (ojs.counter_monthly_log, CONSTRAINT FK_counter4_log2 FOREIGN KEY (user_id) REFERENCES users (user_id))”

I was hoping someone may have an idea of what is happening here. Or where I could start trouble shooting the problem.

I have full server access and git repo fork access.

OJS version - Release date: Dec 21, 2009 - OJS 2.3.1

Hi @aidana,

That’s an extremely old installation of OJS – I’d suggest upgrading. If it’s still an issue, we can help debug then.
