OJS 3 - Bounce Addres disabled

Hi,
logged in as OJS admin, on a journal setup, at Settings > Workflow > Emails tab, Bounce Address field is disabled, though at config.inc.php file allow_envelope_sender=On.

For reference, I’m running OJS 3.1.1.0 on a CentOS 7.4 server. Email settings for OJS are working fine through a SMTP setup.

I’ve been looking at the available documentation about OJS and SPF rules, but if I’m right at least as a first step the Bounce address field should be enabled.

Hi @gonzalognzl,

Is force_default_envelope_sender configured in config.inc.php? If so, that’ll force a single value for all journals and disable the field in journal setup.

If I set force_default_envelope_sender I can edit the bounce address field, but authors and editors stop receiving any notification emails for new submissions, denied submissions, etc.

Hi @gonzalognzl,

You’d need to check your mail server’s logs to see why the messages weren’t being delivered – that information isn’t available to OJS.
