If I edit a submissions publication data, there is a title field and an optional subtitle field. However, when I make a submission, there is only a title field.
How is an author supposed to enter their subtitle? Is the expectation that editors will always move the subtitle part of the title to the correct field after submission?
What application are you using?
OJS 3.4.0.5
Additional information
I cannot find any relevant settings in the metadata settings under ‘workflow’ either. Probably overlooking something obvious, but our editors are asking questions about it.
So it looks as though this may have been removed between 3.3 (it is still feasible to edit it there) and 3.4 and was removed with the introduction of the updated submission UI/"submission wizard. I tested it in 3.5 it it still seems like it can’t be edited. @grierb - what are your thoughts on this? Was there an intention behind this, or do you think it may have been overlooked/be a bug?
@rcgillis@KayWP . I took a look and there was a change from 3.3 to 3.4 that removed some of these fields that were adding complexity and under utilized. The idea was to reduce the amount of fields in the submission creation workflow. This was an intended change. I tried to find something specific in GitHub but I couldn’t find a direct connection to remove it. It was a general practice to simplify the submission process but keep the option in the publication area. The editor can go in and make any updates to the formal title (prefix and subtitle).
