OJS 3.1.2 BibTex export encoding error

Dear all,

the bibTex export function is very much appreciated by our journal editors, but unfortunately German umlaute are not encoded, e.g. ‘ä’ should be encoded as ‘{"a}’.
Thus, during import e.g. into endnote it generates errors.
Could somebody tell me how to solve this and could this please be generally solved during a new update of the plugin?

Thanks a lot,
Anna

Hi @akku,

Is this using the Citation Style Language plugin?

Hi @astevens,

yes, we use the citation style language plugin, see:
bibtex

thanks for support,
Anna

Hi @akku,

The Citation Style Languae plugin uses an external library/service to generate the citation styles. I’m not sure if this problem with the encoding of German characters can be fixed in the plugin itself or has to be reported upstream to the library, but I suggest filing an issue in PKP’s Github repository and the developers can respond. You just need to create a free Github account to file an issue.
