[OJS 3.1.1.0] Can I change the date of the posted announcement?

Hello.

  • Application Version - OJS 3.1.1.0
  • Description of issue: I would like to manually change the date of the posted announcement. Can I find it somewhere in the site files and change? I don’t use customized CSS file. So if I need to edit some default CSS (?), could you please also tell me, where can I find it?

Thank you a lot in advance.

Hi @SkiT,

To change the announcement’s date posted, you’ll need to modify it in the database. See the announcements table. If you’re not handy with SQL, you can use a tool like phpMyAdmin (available on most commercial hosts).

Thanks. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the database. Then can I hide dates for all announcements like it’s given here? If so, I would still need the location of the file to edit.

Hi @SkiT,

You wouldn’t need to edit an existing file (and we don’t recommend doing it that way anyway, as you’d need to preserve modifications whenever you upgrade). Instead, you can upload a snippet of CSS in your journal settings. See: Create a Stylesheet
