[OJS 3.1.0.1] Placing articles on hold

I am using v3.1.0.1. Is there a way to place an article on hold so that it is no longer in the My Queue list, is archived, but not declined? I think I can accomplish this by Declining the article and then later re-submitting/skipping review to put it back in My Queue - I would just need to note which articles are ‘on hold decline’ and truly ‘declined.’ Just checking if I am missing something simpler. Thanks!

Hi @russlhuizing,

OJS does not have a function to put an article on hold. However, it can be moved back to review or accept from the archive without having to resubmit the article.

Just to add to what Patricia has already said, you can always unassign yourself from the submission to avoid having it show up in your Queue. If no other editor is assigned it will move to the Unassigned list, but maybe that’s ok. Just a thought!
