OJS 3.0 beta release?

We are interested in OJS 3.0 to be used for our publications and are waiting for the OJS 3.0 beta to conduct our evaluation. May we know if the beta release for OJS 3.0 will be available soon? According Alec Smecher response to this discussion thread, http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11558&p=51064#p51064, it says

“We’re currently planning to release OJS 3.0 beta in the summertime, but the stable release of OJS 3.0 won’t come until later.”

Since it’s already July so we would like to know if it is coming any time soon.

Thanks,
-Carol

Hi @cchou,

We’ll be releasing the beta in time for our conference in August. See the github.com milestones here: Milestones - pkp/pkp-lib · GitHub

Hi Carol – we’re almost ready and will be providing the first look at the OJS 3 beta at the PKP 2015 conference next month. We’re planning to livestream the event, so watch the PKP web site for upcoming details.

Sounds great. Thank you so much for the update!

Dear @asmecher,

are there any news, when the final/stable version of OJS 3 will be released. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find any information on that :frowning:

Best regards,
Michael

Hi @mwagner,

Our next major release will be OMP 1.2, probably Q1 2016. This will use most of the codebase to be released as OJS 3.0. OJS 3.0 will be the next major release after that. We haven’t picked a firm date yet, but watch for OMP 1.2 as the next big step towards OJS 3.0.
