I am trying to install OJS 3.0.2 but I am having problem at the first step of web installation. I installed mysql, php and apache.
I am now at the web site step. I fill out everything on that step (https://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/docs/userguide/2.3.1/systemAdministrationInstallProcess.html) but everytime I do it I get blank page no matter how many times I tried.
I dont know what causes this problem. Could it be “OAI Settings-Repository Identifier”? I dont know what to put there.
Or maybe the problem is somewhere else?
Thanks
Hi @bakarsu,
Have you checked your PHP error log?

I can’t understand what can I do to make installation. If i do nothing - i have a white screen with logo, and when i try to take autorization nothing happens. Help please to install.
Hi @1113,
Those messages are just warnings and can be ignored. Keep looking in the for errors – there should be something recorded. You may also need to check your Apache error log, if it’s a different file; it’s possible that your installation process is hitting an Apache timeout and getting stopped from completing.

In browser there is line {“status”:true,“content”:"\n\n\t\t\t\u041f\u043e\u043c\u043e\u0449\u044c\n\t</a>\n\n\n\n when i try to do something deeper than in index page. For example in control panel to see the list of users.
Please help to understand WHAT system wants from me TO DO to work property.
Hi,
You should first disable those strict standanrds errors. See the link that I sent above.
These errors are probably causing the “status: true” error you mention.
Secondly, I think that the folder permissions of your cache are not set correctly. See faq here: How should file permissions be set?
i have no htaccess file in my site folder< make corrections in php.ini as described, folder permissions are correct, check twice. But problem is the same.
Who is the owner of the cache folder? The PHP Warning: file_put_contents
suggest that there is something wrong either with the permissions or the owner.
After changing php.ini did you restart your server?
after changings restart every try.
owner is root, i try to change to nobody no result. Who must be owner?
Regarding the strict standards errors, are you still getting those after changing the server error settings?
And did you do the changes to the correct php.ini file (ee http://yourdomain.com/index.php/index/admin/phpinfo => Loaded Configuration File) and use this setting error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE & ~E_STRICT
The owner of cache
can not be root
. See the faq for details: How should file permissions be set?
In my server the owner has to be apache
so that php scripts can write to the folder. But the correct user varies. It could also be www-data
. Maybe these will help you find out what the user should be in your server:

Thanks a lot! Read carefully. Start works. Errors in log stop growing! Thanks a lot one more time!
Thanks everybody for your help!
We finally did it. We reinstalled everything and it is fine now.
