[OJS 2.4.x] Review complete email sent to sections editors removed from the role

Dear fellas,

In our current install, a specific journal, that was migrated using a specific journal import plugin, uses section editors.

Several section editors have been removed from the role, but several emails keep being sent to them somehow.

The last example is a review complete email from a reviewer, which is sent to those section editors as well as the editors themselves…

Any ideas as to what may be happening or how to debug this issue?

Hello all,

After a bit of diggin, I figured out the “problem”.
What actually happens is that the user, even though no longer a section editor, is still linked to the submission to follow up the process.

OJS COULD remove these automagically, to prevent undesired access to review processes or information.
