OJS 2.4.8.2: Author names not showing in table of contents

I have checked the settings for the journal section and they are as they should be.

I have manually edited the article metadata and changed omit names function from default to show.

We have a dozen or so journals and this is the only one where the names are not displaying in the table of contents.

The names are coming through in the metadata–checked Google Scholar to see if they are showing up there.

Anyone have a similar problem they have been able to solve? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Cheers,
Nancy

Hi @nla,

Those are the settings I would check – the section “omit names” option, and the article’s option to override that setting. Are you sure there’s not something like a CSS directive that’s hiding the author names? Is the journal public, and if so, can you share an example link to an article with me?

Hi Alex,

The journal is public: https://ejournals.bc.edu/ojs/index.php/dianoia/index

They are not using abstracts, but here’s a link to the ToC of the last issue: https://ejournals.bc.edu/ojs/index.php/dianoia/issue/view/1025/showToc

We are using a CSS that was developed in house, but we are using it on several journals and the others all display author names. Worth a check though; you never know what might have happened during the customization …

Nancy

Hi @nla,

Yes, check your CSS – it looks like it’s hiding the author listings.

I looked at the other journals and they all use abstracts, so probably something to do with that. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

Just to follow through, the CSS was indeed where the problem was and it is now fixed. Thanks again for your help!
