No estoy visualizando la opción para editar a los autores en una de las revistas en las que mi usuario tiene asociadas (en las otras lo visualizo bien), cambié de roles en mi usuario y no tuve suerte.

Is the problem that you see the string ##default.groups.name.author##? Or is the problem something different?

Are you an assigned section editor? You may need to ask the Editor to check in the Workflow (Flujo de trabajo) to see whether you were assigned with sufficient permissions to edit metadata:

Find the “Participants” list on the right-hand side of the workflow:
Your user’s assignment should be in the list. The Editor should click the Edit button:
…and find this window, including the Permissions area:
