New role as co-editor?

In our installation we have a journal, which wishes to have a list of people who can access all stages of the workflow when needed, but who are not part of the the everyday workflow. In OJS they apparantly all had the role of journal editor. When migrating from OJS 2 to OJS 3, this has become a problem as they get all system notifications that the journal editor get, which they should not. However, they should still have access to all stages of the workflow when needed.

Can I make a new role “co-editor” with permission level “assistant” and give them access to all worksflow stages to achieve what the journal want, or is there a better way to solve this?

You can create role assistant and give them permission to access all stages. In addition, you can create test submission and test how it works.
