Medline indexing declined

Hi. One of our journals was recently declined when they applied to be indexed in Medline. The Review Committee noted areas needing improvement included:
“The website navigation could be improved. Full manuscript display is clunky—the PDF is slow to load; it takes 2 clicks to display full screen version–the first click displays manuscript inside a small window with no scroll-bar.”

We don’t see those issues ourselves, and the “small window” certainly does have a scroll bar. The journal is in OJS 2.4.7.1. Although I don’t see any mention in this forum of other journals having trouble this way, just wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions. There must be other OJS journals in Medline?

Thanks,
Judy

Hi @jpowell,

The PDF presentation of OJS can be considerably improved by enabling the PDF.js plugin, which should be included in your OJS installation already. Please follow up if Medline identifies additional issues – I’m not familar with their inclusion requirements, but we’ve certainly not heard something like this before.

Thanks Alec. Do you know of any examples of OJS journals indexed by Medline?

Hi @jpowell,

Google up JMIR, for one; I’m sure there are others.
