Mail for installa plugin PFL, Competing Interest, and Funder plugins. real o fake?

Hi, we received an email from john.willinsky@publicknowledgeproject.org with the subject line: Publication data label for your journal.

It mentions installing the PFL, Competing Interest, and Funder plugins.

Do you know anything about this?

Hi @simgiallorosso,

Possibly… John has been active in promoting this plugin. I’ve inquired with him to ask to ensure its legitimacy.

Hi @simgiallorosso

Thanks for asking, as it’s really me. PKP has developed the Publication Facts Label as a plugin intended to help journals (OJS V3.3 or greater) inform their readership (researchers and the public) about their adherence to scholarly publishing standards, as well as build trust and speak to basic integrity issues. The label automatically utilizes the data in OJS, including the Competing Interest and Funder plugins, as well as the Data Availability Statement option in Workflow > Submission > Metadata. Here’s a YouTube on it (3 min) and a live example of the label from among the first 500 journals to install it, where it appears at the bottom of the article landing page. Let me know if you any further questions.

Thank you so much for the clarification.
I’ve submitted it to the magazine editors.
