Language of the prepared email "Automated Submission Review Reminder"

Hi Alec,

if I have a journal site available in two languages (OJS 2.4.3), the language of the automated review reminder will be always the primary?

Thank you
Angelo

Hi @angelo_ventriglia,

Currently, yes, that’s how it works. We could probably consider an approach whereby the user’s set of indicated languages is compared against the list available based on the journal settings, and an appropriate match is chosen, but I’d worry that Journal Managers are likely to fine-tune wording only on the primary language, so they might not be aware that emails are going out in other languages with the “stock” OJS wording. This is related to another recent question on the forum:

Context : OJS 3.1.2-4

Are automated reminders still sent in the journal’s default language? Or is the (automated) email’s language picked from the user’s profile (when set)? Or else? Same behavior expected for OJS 3.2?

Thank you.

Marie-Hélène

Hi @Marie-Helene,

Automated emails are still sent in the journal’s default language; this is unchanged up to and including OJS 3.2.0. It’s definitely an area for future improvement but that work hasn’t been scheduled against a specific release yet.
