We have a journal section for editorials, signed by “The Editors”.
Currently I’m forced to enter non-empty author names (first: The, last: Editors).
I can configure the journal section to not print this information on the screen.
Yet the HTML still contains embedded metadata with “The Editors”.
I just wanted to confirm there’s no way to leave the author name empty.
Thanks,
-FGN.
Hi @fgnievinski,
What version of OJS are you using? (Please include this in your posts.)

Sorry, it’s version 2 (2.4.8.0).

Hi @fgnievinski,
Sorry, there’s no “official” way to leave author names empty in OJS 2.x. For OJS 3.x, we’ve just merged a contribution allowing for single author names (as opposed to forcing a first and last in cases where that shouldn’t apply), but at least one author name is still required. To fully remove the dependency on at least a single author name we’d need to review downstream requirements to see how/whether we can still meet their requirements (e.g. CrossRef, Google Scholar, Citation Style Language, etc).
