Is open paper review system possible?

I am just wondering if open peer review of papers (eg. HESS journal) is possible within the OJS3 or if there is a plan to implement?

Hi @Fredrick_Mashingia,

We don’t have concrete (i.e. scheduled) plans for this yet, but have been considering a few achievable approaches:

  • Embedding OpenDocument-format submission files using viewer.js, then adding Hypothesis as an open commenting/review tool
  • Pushing our XML publishing workflow (Open Typesetting Stack) back to the submission/review stage, then adding support for commenting into the Substance editor for presentation

We’ll probably tackle one or both of these as grants/funding come available. Other options and code contributions are of course welcome too!
