Is it possible to set an empty value in the license field?

Some of our journals have older articles that were not originally published in OJS. Many of these articles were published without a license. When we add them to our OJS, we are not able to publish them without a license.

What happens is: When we go to “Permissions & Disclosure” on a publication, we click the Override button on the “License URL” field. The field then becomes editable. Then we click “Save” without adding anything in the text field, because we don’t want any license to be registered. But what happens is that the journal’s default license is saved instead of the empty field.

Is it at all possible to set an empty value in the license field?

Our OJS version is 3.4.0.9.

@ajnyga @MariyaM @asmecher , can we please get help with this? It should be possible to have an empty license field in OJS. The workaround that we have to do now is quite cumbersome.

Confirmed this is a bug in 3.4. You can not remove the license and especially with older content you should. I will report this to github.

Thank you, @ajnyga! I guess we’ll have to continue with our manual workaround while we’re on 3.4. Hopefully, 3.5 doesn’t have it.

I checked and this has not been changed in 3.5.

I recall that 3.2 had a checbox there that allowed leaving the field empty? This problem seems to originate from 3.3?
