In expectation of the plugin, is there anyway of submitting papers manually to the PKP PLN?

Hi @mjordan, greetings. I hope the PKP team will be working on PKP PN plugin for OJS 3.x. I hope you or other mates will update about the possible release date of this plugin. The OJS 3.x community is waiting for it for quite long and looks forward to a your kind support.

Looking forward with profound regards. Sulaman

@sulaman we continue to work on getting the plugin ready for deployment. Our developer intends to have the plugin ready by the end of January for a brief, final round of field testing at a partner OJS host. If that testing is positive, we’ll be making plans to release it publicly in (probably the latter part of) February.

I would like to inquire whether the plugin is available for OJS 3.1.?

As you may know, the use of the plugin is a prerequisite for getting the Seal of the Directory of Open Access Journals, therefore I believe it is urgent for a very high number of journals.

Greetings, any updates to a timeline for the PKP PN plug in for OJS 3?

Thanks

Beloved developers,

is there anything one can do to help you with this plugin? Beta-testing? A donation? Bringing you a coffee? I’m not joking: do you need any help with this matter?

all best,

Dear @mjordan, @asmecher, greetings and peace.

It has been quite a while (about two years) since waiting for release of PKP PN Plugin which was said to be released quite earlier despite various new release dates announced. I really understand that OJS team is working hard on this plugin. I hope you would kindly share updates for its release.
Regards. Sulaman

@sulaman you are correct, this has been an issue for a very long time. We are actively working on getting this plugin ready to ship. Thank you for your continuing patience (which you must have an abundance of).

Dear Mark @mjordan, many thanks for your very kind and encouraging reply.

I hope the release date is quite near now and would highly appreciate if you mention possible date of release of the PKP PN plugin. This information would bring back energy and motivation to many who have been waiting patiently and impatiently for the plugin.
Looking forward to another kind reply.
Regards. Sulaman

I’m sorry but we can’t define a date until we are satisfied the plugin is in shippable form. As I said, we continue to test and iterate on our findings.

Dear Mark @mjordan, I am really happy that OJS team is in the test-retest phase of the plugin. I am not asking for any definite date but only a probable date (no matter how slightly or strongly probable) of release.

Hoping to hear positive from you and the team.

Regards. Sulaman

Dear All,

we are also very interested in this plugin for OJS 3.1.2. Actually we are waiting for it before applying to DOAJ, so that we can obtain a DOAJ Seal. We are wondering how long should we wait, or better to apply for the DOAJ without providing digital archiving policy?

Thank you in advance,
Bogi

Thank you Bog for the kind follow up on this thread. I am hopeful that @asmecher or others from the developers team will update about the long awaited PKP PN plugin.

Many thanks and regards. Sulaman

Hi everyone,

The team within PKP working on the PN plugin for OJS 3 met this morning and we are happy to announce that we on schedule to make the plugin available to testers in mid August. If your would like to help us test this plugin, please say so in this thread. You will need to be running OJS 3.1.2-1 to use the plugin (and your journal will need to have an ISSN, as is the case for the plugin in OJS 2.x).

Mark
