Incorrect text pulled into variables (3.3.0.7)

After upgrading to V. 3.3.0.7. I noticed that in the editor assignment letter the variable $AuthorName pulls in the Editor being assigned. What generates this behaviour? See screenshots from letter template and letter sent. Is it possible to have a list of variables and what they pull in?

It’s not possible to see all the email templates available when creating a template, but we’re working on this feature for 3.4.
