Include PDF in XML file

Hi there,

one of our journals wants to import a few hundreds articles with the Articles & Issues XML Plugin (OJS-Version: 2.4.8.1). Of course, for this they need to create their xml files accordingly to OJS specifications. There is not a problem with the fields, but I am not sure how to transform the PDFs. When I export an article the PDF is included (as a binary code?). How can I recreate this, so OJS can import them? Or is it possible to just put in a reference to the PDF?
