We are using OJS 3.1.1 and would like to include the journal editor, manager and section editor in the thank-reviewer email so they get appreciated for their effort since the journal is open-access and totally free.
Will that require us to modify the code (if so any idea on where to start), or that can be configured from somewhere else?

You can see an overview of the prepared emails and what is involved in customizing them in our documentation: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/learning-ojs/3.1/en/settings-workflow#emails
You can also add an extra discussion as part of the discussion for the article and include a thank you that way. That may be easier, rather than modifying the code, which could have implications if not done correctly.
