How to place a character limit on abstract submission in OJS version 3.x

Hi … How can i place character limit on abstract submission field so that when the author exceeds the limit he will be notified about the restriction and asked to correct the abstract (OJS 3.x) ?? thanks

Hi @amirdire

This should be done as journal manager under Settings > Journal > Sections > edit section > word count, but it is currently not working. There is a GitHub Issue for that where you can track the progress: Section word count field is inoperative · Issue #2571 · pkp/pkp-lib · GitHub.

ok @bozana, also is there any feature to limit the page number for an author submission??

No, there is no such feature – the OJS does not have any control about the submitted documents – this would be the issue that should be communicated between editors/journals and authors…
