Hi @mattiman
It’s my understanding that this is how the DOI plugin works. DOIs are assigned at the article level, not at the galley level. They are stored in the submission_settings table.

Hi @mattiman,
The DOI in the PDFs is generally added by a typesetter when they create the galley.

Hi @pmangahis,
Thanks for the reply. How are the galleys created? I thought they are created automatically by the system? Or is that done by the journal editor?
I am the system administrator and not familiar with the editing process itself.
best,
Matthijs
Hi @mattiman,
Galleys are created externally and uploaded to the system. Depending on the journal workflow and editorial team, this can be done by a single person (often an editor) or assigned to an external person (layout editor).
If you’re interested in learning more about the publication process, please see - Chapter 15- Production and Publication of Learning OJS 3.

Hi @pmangahis thanks for your help. I will look into that documentation and discuss this with the editors.
Your assistance is appreciated!
